Infographic: Gratitude is Good For Your Health

by admin

There are all sorts of reasons that you are prompted to tell someone thanks—you receive a gift, someone does a kindness that you didn’t expect. But showing gratitude is more than just good manners; exhibiting gratitude can actually do good things for your health.

For starters, there’s willpower: You’ll have more of it and be more thoughtful in your decision making. You’ll cement your relationships, too—counteracting loneliness, mitigating aggressiveness, boosting compassion. You’ll also feel better, with impact that extends to your immunity. More gratefulness also means that you’ll fall asleep faster and stay asleep with fewer disruptions.

There are ways—journaling, challenges to name just two—to boost gratitude, and this graphic can help.

We all SHOULD and MUST follow UBUNTU: Learn and change your LIFE

by admin

Life is amazing and beautiful and there are learning in every nook and corner on this world.

Similarly, I learnt something the other day about Ubuntu, a wonderful concept.

What is it?

Here’s learn and embrace humanity via a story.

An anthropologist studying the habits and customs of an African tribe found himself surrounded by children most days. So he decided to play a little game with them. He managed to get candy from the nearest town and put it all in a decorated basket at the foot of a tree.

Then he called the children and suggested they play the game. When the anthropologist said “now”, the children had to run to the tree and the first one to get there could have all the candy to him/herself.

So the children all lined up waiting for the signal. When the anthropologist said “now”, all of the children took each other by the hand ran together towards the tree. They all arrived at the same time divided up the candy, sat down and began to happily munch away.

The anthropologist went over to them and asked why they had all run together when any one of them could have had the candy all to themselves.

The children responded: “Ubuntu. How could any one of us be happy if all the others were sad?”

Ubuntu is a philosophy of African tribes that can be summed up as “I am what I am because of who we all are.”

Bishop Desmond Tutu gave this explanation in 2008 :

“One of the sayings in our country is Ubuntu – the essence of being human. Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can’t exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness. You can’t be human all by yourself, and when you have this quality –

Ubuntu – you are known for your generosity. We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole World. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity.”

This is the true spirit of human development and cause of human evolution. Ubuntu. Once again, we are proud to say Ubuntu, I am what I am because of who we all are.. This is not a story as such, but a feeling to be expressed.

Ubuntu…it is!!!

Beautiful message: The poor boy: The rich boy

by admin

You were born in a first class hospital, I was delivered at home, we both survived.

You went to a private primary school and I went to a public school, we both ended in the same high school.

You woke up from the bed and I woke from the floor, we both had a peaceful night rest.

Your outfits are all expensive, mine are all simple and cheap, we both still cover our nakedness.

You ate fried rice and roasted chicken, I ate local made food but we both still ate to our satisfaction.

You ride on Lexus jeep, Range Rover, G Wagon, Hummer Jeep and I use public transport but we still got to our various destination.

You may be reading this post from your Sony xperia, BB Z10, Q10, Samsung Galaxy 6edge, IPhone6+ and I typed it with my Touch one broken screen, we still see the message.

Lifestyle is not a competition and there are different ways to get a lot of things done, different lanes all leading to the same destination. Just because your neighbour is doing things faster does not mean you are failing.

Happiness doesn’t come from having everything, but making the best out of what you have, it’s all about how you see yourself.

Happiness is not having what you like. Happiness is liking what you have and being content…

You must never ask a woman her age and a man his salary.
Do you know why, Have you ever thought about it..
Well here is a beautiful insight…
It is wrong to ask a woman her age because she hardly ever lives for herself!
And it is wrong to ask a man his salary because he hardly ever spends on himself!.

Is Life only about Success, Wealth, Fame? Steve Jobs had it all, but his last words will make you THINK

by admin

Hello all wonderful readers of SuccessYeti.com.

I would like to begin by wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali. This festive season, may you look within and light up the darkness and spread love.

As I pass years on this beautiful planet and meet different people and situations, I often introspect on the meaning of life.

Everyone has his or her version and I respectfully take note of everyone’s thoughts. I also dig deep into the pages of biographies and autobiographies to seek knowledge from the men and women who have walked the extra mile.

I have realised that mostly all, especially in today’s consumerism injected world, are gripped by the constant chase for success, fame and wealth. Fuelled by ambition and the undesirable lust for material possession, humans are ready to go to any extent, even drop their basic values, to be on the top of the pseudo societal ladder of triumph.

In my personal life, I have met many people who have been blessed with material prosperity, but have also owned wrinkles of worries and restlessness in abundance, thanks to constant disregard for family, friends, people and of course, health.

I feel being ambitious is very good, but not at the cost of health and happiness, for self and others.

Being a twitchy owl on a cosy bed in a fancy hotel in Las Vegas is not worth it. End of the day, peace and happiness are the necessary life energies.

One needs to pause, introspect, contemplate, and meditate to evolve as a person along with professional leaps.

Growth should be simultaneous and all encompassing. The perfect balance is needed.

It’s better to understand that as humans, we need peace in mind and lead a healthy life. One needs to understand it before time runs out.

And my thoughts got a certain validation when I read about the great Steve Jobs’ apparent last words. The Apple founder was an epitome of success, but for him, life had a different meaning.  Here’s what he said: ( we do not confirm if the words were indeed said by Jobs, but yet we thought of sharing it with readers given its importance pertaining to life and its meaning)

Steve Jobs’ Last Words –

I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world.

In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success.

However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.

At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.

In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of god of death drawing closer…

Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth…

Should be something that is more important:

Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days …

Non-stop pursuing of wealth will only turn a person into a twisted being, just like me.

God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone’s heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth.

The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me.

What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.

That’s the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.

Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.

What is the most expensive bed in the world? – “Sick bed” …

You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost – “Life”.

When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading – “Book of Healthy Life”.

Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.

Treasure Love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends…

Treat yourself well. Cherish others.

Wow, touchy indeed!!!

So what are your thoughts on life? For me, it’s being happy, humble and fit. Rest all will be taken care by the universe. Have faith and live life to the fullest.

Cheers to all.
