Panic attacks are sensations of panic that arrive suddenly and without notice. These attacks can occur at any time, including while you sleep. Panic attacks symptoms can be in the form of racing heart, feeling weak, faint, or dizzy, sense of terror, feeling sweaty or having chills, chest pains, breathing difficulties, feeling a loss of control, etc.
Here are some mistakes that people often make while having a panic attack
1. Resisting
When we are in a terrible mood, sadness, or panic, our initial desire is to get rid of it as soon as possible, to turn the negative mood into a pleasant one. Though this is a natural response, our attempts all too frequently make things worse.
Resistance encourages us to think about our situation constantly, to give it our whole attention, to feel horrible because it won’t go away, and to wait tensely for relief.
Things get much simpler if we relax and allow our depression or panic to arise without trying to control it, understanding that these are merely fleeting feelings that will pass in time.
2. Feeling bad for having negative thoughts
We feel horrible about ourselves as soon as we start thinking negative ideas. To the anxiety we already experience, our minds start to add new fears and unpleasant emotions. These thoughts and feelings eventually come to dominate our situation. Each episode is made painful by your imagination, not by the panic.
3. Comparing ourselves with others
We make the error of comparing ourselves to others, which is one of the worst mistakes we make. Stop comparing if you wish to get rid of despair or anxiety.
Instead of dwelling on what has already happened, focus on the present moment.
4. Asking yourself pointless questions
Your anxiety will be worsened if you ask yourself meaningless questions. ‘Why me?’ questions can worsen your situation and cause you to be irritated about something that has already happened.
Concentrate on what will assist you in overcoming your anxiety and disregard any queries that do not serve this aim.
