Associating with toxic individuals
Your social circle has an impact on how you think, feel, and act. Interacting with people who lie, gossip, bully, or cheat takes a toll on your health. Mentally strong people do not waste their time attempting to change dangerous people. They set healthy emotional and physical boundaries.
Too much self-blame
Everything being wholly your responsibility, whether it’s a failed relationship or an accident, will affect how you view yourself and the world. It is not always possible to keep negative events from occurring. People with mental strength accept responsibility for their actions. They recognize that they are accountable for their choices, but they also recognize that some factors are beyond their control, such as the status of the economy, the weather, and other people’s choices.
Pursuit of pleasure
Thinking you have to be happy all of the time is a horrible concept. Short-term pleasure is not the same as long-term satisfaction. People who are mentally strong are willing to put up the work necessary to achieve happiness. They refuse to succumb to fleeting pleasures or instant delight. They seek out ways to set long-term objectives in order to build a better future.
Remaining at ease
It may appear that remaining in your comfort zone is the path to happiness. However, avoiding suffering usually backfires. Mentally strong people face their concerns, take risks, and push themselves to their limits. They recognize that discomfort is tolerable and that allowing yourself to be uncomfortable is a step toward a better existence.
The victim attitude
If you believe the world and the people in it are out to get you, you won’t be able to be your best. In fact, blaming outside circumstances for your problems will keep you from accepting responsibility for your life. Mentally strong people recognize their options even in the face of disaster. They concentrate on the things they can influence and refuse to waste time throwing pity parties.
