We, humans, make mistakes from time to time. But at times we screw up real bad. It is the heat of the moment or emotional state that makes us commit some mistakes.
However, instead of panicking, you can do the following five things.
When you realize that you have committed a mistake, you need to take a step back and get some perspective over the situation. Evaluating the situation would guide you to logically understand what you have done.
If you have screwed up, then you need to go ahead and apologize. When you stay indifferent you make it seem as if you don’t care and it is deeply rude and insulting. You need to be a little humble. When you apologize for your mistakes, you earn respect, friends, and self-esteem.
Therefore, if you screw up rather than panicking, apologize and mend your mistakes.
It is normal to make mistakes once in a while. However, you need to ensure that you do not repeat those mistakes. Understand what you did wrong and think about what you can do in the future to prevent it from occurring again.
Don’t let your mind dwell over a screwed-up situation for a long time. If you keep mulling over your mistake, you are going to lose focus and live in that situation with shame. Therefore it is important to step out of it and breathe.
Guilt and sadness accompany mistakes and hence you need to practice self-compassion. You need to release that you are human and it is okay to mess up at times. Do not beat yourself up, instead, be kind.
