Gratitude- Antidote For Painful Feelings: Know More

The things that happen to us do not result in gratitude but it is the attitude that we cultivate by practice. When you feel the painful feelings trapping you inside its net, work towards practicing gratitude. It reminds you of all the goods in life and what you are capable of.

Here are some tips for you to maintain a daily gratitude practice:

1. Choose a time of the day that suits you

Write all the things you are grateful for in your gratitude diary. Morning is the best time to write it as you get a chance to review your experiences of the day before. Writing at night is also a good idea as you review and appreciate all the things in the day.

2. Fake it until you make it

Even if it feels insincere, keep on writing. It is a great opportunity to uplift your mood if you are feeling low. You’d be surprised to see your mood change within seconds as you go on writing.

3. Make gratitude a part of your life

Make writing a gratitude diary a part of your daily routine. Even if you feel like your mood isn’t changing quickly, persist with practice. Do not give up easily, it makes a reserve of gratitude in you which would eventually affect every moment of your life.

4. Don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself

Set a target for yourself to write one or two pages of the gratitude diary every day. Ensure that the goals are achievable. You can even write just three things that you are grateful about.
