Being narcissistic or self-effacing is not an indication of self-love. It does not include assessing your own value in relation to other people’s. It’s also not about always prioritizing yourself over other people; rather, it’s about accepting and loving yourself for who you are, caring for your mind, body, and spirit, and doing all the things that make you happy.
“Embracing the glorious mess that I am” is a wise saying that I once read and it had me thinking, grinning, and curious.
That line absolutely captured my attention, and I decided I had to start loving my life and my unique personality—perfect in spite of all of my shortcomings.
In fact, it made clear the whole mess I’m in as I type this little note. I realized that we have all been “TRYING HARD” to fix the “MESS” that we are while also trying harder to hide the mess in order to look better and more acceptable.
We all experience extreme amounts of worry over unimportant matters, and occasionally we become so overwhelmed that we wind up sitting on the sofa as we struggle to keep up with the madness in our thoughts.
Let that craziness be; it’s good to be weak, it’s great to be irritated, it’s okay to be silent, it’s okay to speak up, and sometimes it’s completely OK to be a mess. Don’t let these thoughts bother you.
Even on the days when things don’t go as planned, you must constantly remember that you are bountiful, lovable, and compassionate.
Explore new things, meet new people, and have new adventures. Record the moments and journalize your experiences to look back at them later.
