Islam has received a negative impression around the world and the Muslims are facing the brunt of it. In such cases, the religion and its teachings are blamed but one fails to notice that the Quran too imparts peace like other religions.
Some of the verses from the Quran that reflect peace are;
“Those who believe, their hearts find peace and tranquillity in the remembrance of Allah, it is only in the remembrance of Allah that the heart will find contentment.” (Surat Ar-Ra’d 28)
“O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlooking much. There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book. By which Allah guides those who pursue his pleasure to the ways of peace and brings them out from the darkness into the light, by His permission, and guides them to a straight path.” (Surah Ma’idah, verse 5:15-16)
“Allah is the protector of those who have faith. He will lead them from the depths of darkness into light. As for those who disbelieve, their patrons are devils: from the light, they will lead them forth into the depths of darkness. They will be the companions of the fire, to dwell therein forever.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 2:257)
“You may fight in the cause of God against those who attack you but do not aggress. God does not love aggressors.” (2:190)
“You may also fight them to eliminate oppression, and to worship God freely. If they refrain, you shall not aggress; aggression is permitted only against the aggressors.” (2:193)
