Conflicts can be defused before they get out of hand with a little common sense and proactive action. These pointers will assist you in dealing with and resolving difficult circumstances.

Make inquiries

Poor communication can lead to conflict. Someone didn’t say what they meant to say or misspoke what was meant to be said. Ask inquiries before allowing an escalation. It won’t cost you any face and could lead to a swift resolution.

Examine your expectations

Conflicts frequently arise as a result of one party’s unmet expectations. If the other party was expecting something they didn’t get or something that didn’t happen, the conversation might quickly devolve into a negative and closed situation. If a conversation appears to be stumbling, take a step back and discuss it with the other person to try to figure out what happened.
