Feelings are what makes us human. Feeling empathetic, compassionate, angry, happy, melancholy etc, we as humans tend to feel these emotions sometimes in our life. Feelings have always been a part of our lives and we must appreciate the presence of these feelings in our life whether good or bad. Our feelings come from our hearts so if we judge our feelings it means we are judging what our hearts tell us. In this extract, we shall have a look at why we should stop judging our feelings.
Many times we tend to feel highly embarrassed, guilt-driven or pathetic for feeling a certain way. We tend to judge ourselves for the way we feel. We restrict ourselves from letting our feelings flow free. (For eg: Society has taught boys, “crying makes them look week”) such faulty stereotypical notions have always made people vulnerable to commit suicide.
We must live life on our terms, it’s important that we shouldn’t be scared of expressing our emotions and feelings, we must express them freely without suppressing them. We tend to judge ourselves by calling ourselves week or sometimes stupid for feeling a certain way.
We must stop doing that to live our life more gracefully, happily and willingly. We shouldn’t be scared of expressing our feelings to people we love, even if our said feelings don’t get reciprocated. It’s ok, it’s just how life is. So it’s high time that we become worthy of ourselves, prioritise and love ourselves more and express feelings more freely.
