Are you leading an unhappy life? Find out why?

· Living a meaningless life

One of the important reasons for not being happy is you are not leading your life with a purpose. Every human has some purpose to be born on earth. However, many of us aren’t aware of the purpose of our life. Unless we know the purpose, we won’t be satisfied with each day and thus won’t receive happiness. So if you feel you are living a meaningless life, take time for yourself, meditate if necessary and try to find your purpose of living.

· Constant overthinking

Most people who are unhappy have the habit of overthinking and converting a small issue into a big problem in their head. Overthinking can seem to be not a big deal but can cause more destruction to a person’s mental health and happiness than you can imagine. If your reason for being unhappy for overthinking, learn to control your mind. Try converting your negative thoughts into positive ones. Take control of your thought, set daily positive affirmations and stick to them.

· Trying to find happiness in materialistic things

Almost all of us think happiness lies in owning more and more things, therefore, we go for shopping even when it is unnecessary. Many people even buy things for themselves of their close ones to cheer their mood. Though material things can make you happy for a while, happiness doesn’t last for a long time. Therefore, stop searching for happiness in materialistic things because you’ll always want more. Instead start looking for happiness in showing kindness, finding peace, etc.

· Failing to love yourself

When you don’t love yourself enough you,

– You will be judging yourself and be rude and harsh to self

– Looking down upon self for failing and making mistakes

– Blaming yourself for things you can’t control

– Comparing yourself to others

All these behaviours of yours will make you unhappy and the only solution to such behaviour is self-love.

· Not being able to let go

Your happiness is sabotaged if you are holding on to something, letting go will help you free yourself from the burden more than the thing you let go off. If you can’t let go off following things, you will be most of the time unhappy in life

– Addictions: drug, alcohol or smoking

– Hurtful past

– Resentment against someone
