Always Feeling Hot During Pregnancy? Know How To Deal With It

Are you always feeling hot during pregnancy? It’s not your imagination; every stage of pregnancy might cause a minor increase in body temperature. It’s extremely likely that your pregnancy glow is a combination of excitement and heat flushing. It’s possible that your skin will feel warmer to the touch.

You’re probably sweating more than usual, and you might even have night sweats. Pregnant women’s skin has an increased blood supply, making it feel warm to the touch. Hot flushes are also common during pregnancy, as your body has a difficult time regulating your temperature. Furthermore, the energy expended when moving around with a bump can make you hot.

The heart maintains its performance by working even harder than it normally does. Your heart is pumping blood 20% quicker by the eighth week of pregnancy. A faster heart rate causes your metabolism to speed up, which causes your body temperature to rise somewhat.

Here are a few ways to deal with it

1. Drink plenty of water throughout the day and keep a bottle handy to avoid dehydration, especially when exercising.

2. In hot weather, avoid exercising. Wait till later in the day when it’s cooler.

3. Wear loose-fitting cotton or natural-fiber garments. These materials absorb perspiration and breathe better than synthetic fabrics.

4. Keep windows, drapes, and blinds closed throughout the day to keep rooms as cool as possible. When the temperature outside is cooler than the temperature inside, open the windows. At night, using a fan to circulate air around the room can also assist.

5. To cool your pulse points, run your wrists under cold water, and apply a cool wet flannel to your forehead and back of your neck.

6. If you have a foot spa, fill it with cool water rather than warm. Alternatively, fill a washing-up bowl halfway with cold water and soak your feet.

7. Do not keep any electrical equipment in your home on standby. These produce a significant quantity of heat.

8. Indoor plants can help to cool the air and, as a bonus, they can also help to refresh it.
