Arrhythmia: Symptoms, Treatment And Complications

An arrhythmia is described as an irregular heartbeat. In this situation, a person’s heart may beat too rapidly, too slowly, too fast, or with an uneven rhythm. Arrhythmias happen when the electrical signals that adjust heartbeats are not functioning correctly. An unstable heartbeat may feel like a racing heart or fluttering. Several heart arrhythmias are harmless. However, if they are highly abnormal or occur from an unstable or damaged heart, arrhythmias can result in serious and potentially harmful symptoms and complications.

Here are the symptoms, treatment, and complications of Arrhythmia

Symptoms

Arrhythmia might not result in obvious symptoms. However, a specialist may observe an arrhythmia during a regular examination or after consulting an EKG (electrocardiogram). Even if a person notices signs, it does not certainly mean that they have a serious arrhythmia.

Symptoms depend on the type of arrhythmia, as follows:

Treatment

The several arrhythmias expect different treatments.

1. Treatments for bradycardia

If bradycardia occurs due to a basic condition, a doctor will be required to deal with that condition first. If they discover no underlying difficulty, the doctor may instruct implanting a pacemaker.

2. Treatments for tachycardia

Vagal maneuvers

Specific activities and workouts that a person can hold out at home may stop some types of arrhythmia that begin above the lower half of the heart.

Cardioversion

The doctor may try an electric shock or medicine to reset the heart to its normal rhythm.

Maze procedure
