Many studies have proved that sugar is not good for health. Sugar is such food that keeps you wanting more. But does sugar decrease your life span? Can avoiding sugar help you have a long life. Yes it can, cutting down sugar from your diet can benefit you in many ways. However, it should be mentioned that all naturally occurring sugar like in fruits, milk etc. are good for health, unless otherwise specified by the doctor. Let’s list some health benefits of avoiding sugar.

· Enhances weight loss

More sugar intake increases the insulin level. This in turn affects your body by growing fats around the abdominal area and all over your body. Cutting down sugar will result in stable production of insulin which will in turn speed up metabolism and decrease weight.

· Reduce risk of type 2 diabetes

Having less sweet food will save you from the risk of type 2 diabetes. As mentioned earlier more sugar intake raises insulin level. Constantly producing more insulin than it is required to may lead to malfunction and thus cause diabetes.

· Clear skin

Sugar in food can cause acne and reduces the elasticity of skin causing premature wrinkles. Cutting down sugar intake will improve skin quality and give you clearer skin.

· Good heart health

Low sugar means low fat and cholesterol. Fat and cholesterol affect the health of our heart negatively and cause heart-related disease. Studies have found that even if 20% of your calories come from sugar intake you may be fit but your heart is at risk. So if you cut down sugar it will help you have a healthy heart.

If sugar intake is going to cause you severe diseases like diabetes and heart-related sickness. It will surely reduce your life span. Cutting down sugar is beneficial, so if you are planning to cut down your sugar intake it is suggested that you go slow don’t rush as it may affect your health.
