Can Allergies Cause Fever: Know More

According to Westside Head & Neck, the immune system is critical in the battle against the disease. Your immune system is activated to combat any bacterium that enters your body. White blood cells are the cells that keep your body healthy and free of sickness. When the number of cells in your body is low, your immune system is unable to fight off pathogens, leaving you vulnerable to illnesses. As a result, a healthy immune system is critical for illness prevention and defense.

Fever is not caused by allergies. They may, in certain situations, cause health problems that result in a fever, such as a sinus infection. Other illnesses, such as bacterial or viral infections, might mimic allergy symptoms and result in a fever. Allergies do not induce fever, according to the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.

A sinus infection is the most frequent cause of a fever that is accompanied by allergy symptoms such as a runny or stuffy nose. Furthermore, hay fever, also known as allergic rhinitis, does not result in a fever. Allergic rhinitis is a reaction to environmental factors such as pollen, mold, and pet dander.

Despite the fact that allergic rhinitis does not produce a fever, patients with allergic rhinitis or asthma are more likely to acquire chronic sinus infections, which can result in a fever. This is because asthma or allergic rhinitis can produce airway inflammation, according to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.

Allergy symptoms include stuffy or runny noses, sneezing, congestion, watery, itchy eyes, itchy nose and roof of the mouth, coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, skin rashes and hives, exhaustion, headache, nausea, or vomiting.

Allergies do not cause fevers, although they can produce a fever if a person gets a sinus infection. Additionally, viral infections, such as the flu and the common cold, can create a fever as well as allergy-like symptoms.

If you have a persistent fever or allergy symptoms that you’re not sure what’s causing, you should see a doctor for a diagnosis and treatment plan.
