Conception is the joining of a sperm and egg, which is also called fertilization. In several cases, conception arises in a woman’s fallopian tube in some hours or days after sexual intercourse. Conception denotes the initial step toward pregnancy, where the sperm and egg have joined together, developing what is called a zygote.
Conception occurs whenever a sperm and egg join together. This may result when a couple has sexual intercourse, but it can also happen days after intercourse. An egg can be fertilized for a 12 to 24-hour span, and sperm can survive in the female reproductive area for up to 72 hours.
Many people will not undergo any signs or indications that denote that conception has occurred. Maximum of the early symptoms of pregnancy start with the release of hCG, which is noticeable 11 days after conception. Early pregnancy signs can consist of, changes in breast, your breasts may feel fuller or more sensitive, darkening of the areola which is the area around the nipples, nauseating feeling, feeling of tiredness, moody, bloating and missing your period.
When an individual ovulates, they release an egg from the ovaries. This mostly occurs around day 14 of the menstrual cycle or about two weeks before your period. Once an egg is released, it remains in the fallopian tubes, which is the part of the reproductive tract that attaches the ovaries to the uterus.
If sperm and an egg meet in the fallopian tube, conception is possible to happen. Even though hundreds of sperm may envelop the egg, only one will break through the egg’s outer coat to fertilize the egg. When that occurs, the egg goes through a change to assure that no other sperm can permeate it.
