Health tips to keep your heart happy and safe

Death by heart disease is one of the most common reasons for death in the world. Chances of dying by such cause can be avoided by proper routine and diet. Keeping your heart safe and sound is something you can deal with consistently. What you eat, the amount you move, whether you smoke and maintaining your cholesterol level and pulse are five things that can greatly affect your heart.

Here are some tips that will help you maintain proper health of your heart: –

  • Eat healthy food – Improvement in any body function starts with a proper nourished diet. Avoid eating food with high cholesterol and consume food high in fibre, antioxidants and unsaturated fats. Prefer consuming whole grain cereals as they are rich in dietary fibres and Vitamin E
  • Limitation on salt – Prefer using spices and herbs instead of salt. Consuming high amounts of salts can lead to high blood pressure which will increase the strain on the brain and heart, sometimes also leading to a heart attack.
  • Be active – Keep your body moving and rescue your idle time. Avoid sitting in one place for too long. Perform some physical exercises or Yoga. keeping yourself active can greatly reduce your chance of getting any heart disease. Try walking or cycling to travel a short distance instead of using a vehicle.
  • Do not smoke – Everyone knows that smoking is injurious to health. Smoking cigarettes damages the blood vessels that connect to your heart and brain. One is more likely to die of a heart attack or cardiac arrest if he smokes.
  • Keep a habit of health check-ups – You may never even know what your body might be going from. Perform routine health check-ups and stay in constant touch with your physician. Depending on the results of the health check-up, your doctor will suggest you improve the aspects of your body that lacks behind.

Follow these steps to maintain a healthy and happy heart. If you feel any discomfort any kind of chest pain, consult your doctor immediately. Sometimes it may not be anything serious, but sometimes it may be crucial to visit your doctor.
