2. Amylinomimetic drug

Pramlintide is an amylinomimetic drug. It is a drug which is injectable and used before meals. It lessens glucagon secretion after meals. This reduces your blood sugar at a normal rate.

Medicines for type 2 diabetes

If you retain type 2 diabetes, your body produces insulin but it no longer uses it well. Various medications are available to help with type 2 diabetes.

1. Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors

These medicines assist your body to break down starchy foods and excess sugar. This medicine lessens your blood sugar levels. For satisfactory results, you should consume these medications before meals.

2. Biguanides

Biguanides reduce the amount of sugar your liver generates. They lessen how much sugar your intestines absorb, this medication makes your body more sensitive to insulin, and enables your muscles to absorb glucose. Metformin is the most common biguanide.

3. Meglitinides

These medicines enable your body to release insulin. Still, in some cases, they may lessen your blood sugar too much.

4. Sulfonylureas

These medications are among the oldest diabetes medicines still used today. They work by stimulating the pancreas with the support of beta cells. This affects your body to make more insulin.

5. Thiazolidinediones

Thiazolidinediones work by reducing glucose in your liver. They also support your fat cells to use insulin better. Even if there are advantages to these medicines, yet these medicines come with a high threat of heart disease. If your doctor provides you with one of these drugs, they’ll supervise your heart function during treatment.

There are several medicines available to deal with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Each of these medicines work in varied ways to enable you to control your blood sugar.
