When a milk tooth is lost, the excitement of gaining a permanent tooth sets in. All parents want to see their kids with perfectly aligned teeth but genetic or bad habits of kids might contribute to crooked teeth.
However, to ensure that your children grow straight teeth, I have few tips in store for you.
1. Regular Dental Visits
You cannot really tell whether your child will grow straight teeth or crooked and therefore, regular visits to dentists are essential. Additionally, if they are of any genetic concerns then a medical examination can detect it. It will also help to detect signs of overbites, crowding, or any jaw problem.
2. Correct Your Child’s Habits
Ensure that your toddler doesn’t develop the habit of thumb-sucking as it can result in misalignment of teeth. The pressure from the thumb pushes the upper teeth out and lower ones further back leading to misalignment.
Avoid using pacifiers once the teeth start growing.
3. Healthy Food Habits
Don’t give your kids sweet and sugary things like candies as it affects their dental health. Develop a habit of making them eat natural healthy foods rich in calcium like yogurt or cheese.
4. Prevent Tooth Decay
The decay of milk teeth can result in misalignment or crowding in the development of permanent teeth.
5. Observe How They Grow
Children tend to grow crooked teeth initially and gradually they are aligned well as they are fully grown. So, do not panic if the teeth are initially crooked. Regular visits to the dentists will give you better professional insights.
