Do not put your phone next to your body or under your pillow before going to bed. Place it at least 3 feet away on a table or the floor. Carry your phone in a handbag or bag rather than in your pocket during the day. You will not be exposed to increased levels of radiation as a result of this. Put it on aeroplane mode if you need to carry it in your pocket or use it as an alarm clock in the morning.
The transceiver is turned off in aeroplane mode, and the device is unable to send or receive signals. In other words, it prevents you from phoning or texting. There is no radio frequency being sent to cell towers when aeroplane mode is turned on, hence there is no radiation.
Holding the phone to your ear is not a good idea. This sends radiation straight to your skull. Rather, use the speakerphone or text more frequently. You can also avoid placing the phone beside your head by using an app like Hangouts or Skype.
When a cell phone’s signal is weak, such as one or two bars, it emits additional radiation in an attempt to reach a cell tower. If you’re out on a hike in the woods and discover this, wait for a better signal.
The simplest option is to just switch off your phone when you are not using it, especially before going to bed to avoid any disruptions. Because there are no distractions when the phone is turned off, you may find it simpler to relax before bed and drift off to sleep.
