The neurological disorders which are known as autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) is the Asperger Syndrome (AS).
The symptoms of Asperger Syndrome differ from person to person. Children who have Asperger Syndrome tend to have an obsessive attention on the narrow topic of interest. According to Healthline reports, they start developing interest in a variety of things like train schedules or even dinosaurs after a one-sided conversation with their peers.
The intelligence of Asperger Syndrome is either normal or above normal. Though it can’t be cured, children with such problems are allowed to receive education.
Although various brain functions are responsible for Asperger syndrome, doctors haven’t yet determined the actual cause of this disorder.
The contributors in the development of these disorders are mostly genetic factors, environmental toxins or chemicals and viruses.
There is no cure for this disorder but there are multiple treatments that reduce the symptoms of this disorder. The treatment is based on the specific symptoms.
In some cases, medicines are used to treat Asperger syndrome; otherwise, the treatment involves social skills training, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy.
