India relies on Para Special Forces for secret and difficult missions. They are a specially trained set of units that carry out deep operations in the enemy territory. Indian Army has well-equipped and skilled 9 battalions of Special Forces.
Becoming a commando does not involve a moderate training. Instead, to be a Para SF commando the soldiers have to undergo one of the toughest and grueling military training in India.
The commandos have to take part in the deadly 36 hours Para SF stress test. It commences with a 10 km speed march with a battle load of 30kg and an addition of personal weapons weighing 40kg.
During the 36 hours training, they are tested on their physical and mental capacities and it even goes beyond their limit. The probationers’ stress capabilities are put to test as well.
These soldiers are deprived of sleep in those 36 hours and not only that but they are not even provided with food or water. It is complete mental and physical torture. In a stimulated battlefield situation, they have to endure a series of gruesome exercises.
The training involves different rounds. In round one, the soldiers are supposed to carry 20 litres each of two jerry cans. Second, they are required to hold truck tyres of 60kg to 85kg. In the last round, a log of wood weighing 30kg to 85 kg. These commandos are also required to jump in a 12 feet deep water tank with their hands and legs tied.
The training brings its soldiers to their breaking point whether it be combat training or endurance tests.
