1. Do What You Love

Forrest Gump never did anything that he didn’t love to do, he followed his gut and he did what he wished. He opened Bubba Gump Shrimp because he loved his friend. He loved to run so he ran as far as he could, and he loved Jenny so he did all that he could do just to make her happy.

2. Everyone Can Be Insightful

Forrest Gump tells his story and has insight into his own story and a viewpoint that no one else would be able to retain. Every person has an insightful view that they should be able to share it.

3. Don’t Be Afraid To Try New Things

Forrest Gump was never uncertain about trying something different and wasn’t scared of loss, which is a great lesson. No one is perfect, particularly when they’re first trying something new, but even if you are not perfect at it, you must try things. Because until you try it, you never know whether you can do it or not.

4. Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously

Forrest Gump is not someone who takes himself too seriously and he’s not scared of making a fool of himself, it doesn’t mean you have to underestimate yourself but you should not take yourself too seriously as well.

It’s a good life lesson to remind everyone to be humble and know that every person makes errors. No one is perfect, and there’s no point in taking yourself too seriously.

5. Stay Optimistic

Over the whole movie, Forrest Gump is extremely optimistic. Even if there are tough situations, Forrest looks on the bright side of life. Forrest Gump was never afraid of terrible things that were occurring because he knew he would always be able to figure everything out.

6. Appreciate Life While You Have It

One of the obvious lessons that can be taken from Forrest Gump is that it’s crucial to appreciate life while you have it. Because you never know what’s going to occur in the future, when you will live and when you will die. So appreciate the moment you are living in.

7. Truly Loving Someone Means Letting Them Go

It is normal to want to hold onto the things that we love and adore. But when we truly love someone, we also want the best for them and don’t want to hold them back in our life against their will. Truly loving someone implies letting them go and do what they really want.
