It is a straightforward statement with much deeper implications, as I realized early on when I discovered that I can’t go to sleep unless I give it some thought.
Decisions are hard, no matter which. What makes it difficult are the results of those choices, which may or may not have an impact on how boring one’s life is. Being that we are, we resist changing frequently. It is the will that pushes forward in the hope of a better equilibrium maybe.
Because we may or may not be prepared for the changes, sometimes an easy option becomes difficult, and a difficult one becomes an obvious one. So what we are actually dealing with here is acceptance. After each decision we make, acceptance of our lives. We occasionally go above and beyond our normal self-interest to accept a decision’s result, even if it’s for the benefit of the greater good, a specific person, or a cause. We truly shine then because of our will.
Is our unwillingness to embrace change just manifested in our will? And character is what identifies us ultimately? I suppose character is what drives our will with quality, a will that matters. A truly strong will is one that can make difficult decisions, not because they are actually difficult but rather because it takes courage to do so.
A powerful personality transcends homeostasis. It stands above the average and looks down previously untrodden paths. Character truly encapsulates who we are, and it manifests. It is not something one puts on; rather, it evolves over time. Character gives one depth in their thoughts and breadth over the abundance of things around them. It is the recipe of the best quality!
