Even though she was born in a comfortable family, she gave it all up to serve the poor. She felt a great need to make a difference in the world. Therefore seeing the horrors of street dwellers in Calcutta, she decided to devote her life to them, leaving behind a comfortable life.
This act of Mother Teresa made the world realize that materialistic things don’t bring as much happiness as serving the needy does.

Mother Teresa experienced a true desire to serve the poor. She treated the leapers, educated the poorest, and fed the homeless. Her selfless dedication towards the needy created awareness of the charity and inspired many to join her mission.
