How to push yourself when you feel demotivated

Demotivation is quite normal and everyone faces it from time to time. No one is always motivated, we ourselves need to find motivation on a regular basis to keep moving forward. At times, we are tired of constant effort we put to achieve something and when we fail, we feel demotivated. Failure is the main reason behind demotivation. Other reasons could be laziness, the habit of procrastination etc.

These tips will definitely help you push yourself when you are feeling demotivated.

· Set a realistic goal

Failing in unusual things is acceptable, but if you fail in day to day tasks then probably that’s because you are not setting realistic goals. Setting goals is important to stay motivated, but setting realistic goals increases your chances of success. You should know your capacity and capabilities and set your aim accordingly. When you know you can achieve it, you automatically feel motivated.

· Change your attitude

Change your attitude on how you look at challenges. Change the way you think. Stop worrying about what others think about you because if other people’s opinion start mattering then you’ll never succeed in life. People will always demotivate you. Therefore, focus on yourself and your actions. Think about doing the best you can for yourself and you’ll feel motivated.

· Bring exciting changes in your daily routine

Demotivation can also be caused due to life turned into a rut. Same daily routine, same tasks and same people around. Stuck into a routine can make you feel demotivated and even feel the desire of giving up but don’t give up! All you need to do is bring some excitement in your daily routine. Make new friends call your school friends who you hardly talk with, try new hobbies, exercise or go to movie or trekking, whatever refreshes you, do it!

· Read about successful people

Another way of motivating yourself or pushing yourself is to keep reading about successful people. Their stories and experiences will definitely inspire you. People have faced a lot and overcame their struggles with grace. You’ll get inspired by their stories as you’ll find out that your struggles are quite less then those people and if they can do it, you can too.

· Believe in yourself

No matter what, never stop believing yourself. Self-belief is very important if you want to achieve something. When you believe in yourself, you generate confidence and self-esteem. You work harder with grit to achieve what you can. If you lost faith in yourself due to which you feel demotivated, remember what all you have achieved in past years and regain the faith.

· Take little steps but keep moving

At your bad days when you don’t feel like doing anything, take some efforts to at least move one step ahead. Every step counts and a day wasted will never be earned back. Doesn’t matter if it’s a small step, keep moving forward. Your little steps will motivate you to keep going and later you’ll realise how far you have come.
