Mahesh Bhagwat, the police commissioner in Rachakonda, said on Wednesday that Mahatma Gandhi was not only an inspiration and motivation to people all around the world but also an Indian liberation warrior. He initially used satyagraha, his method of peaceful protest, in 1906. His achievements in South Africa earned him a reputation on a global scale, and after returning to India in 1915, he soon rose to prominence as the head of a widespread movement for Indian home rule. Gandhi possessed influence by 1920, a level never before obtained by an Indian political figure.
In honor of the Swatantra Vajrotsavam, which is observed throughout the State from August 8 to 22, he was addressing a free showing of the Oscar-winning movie “Gandhi ” for schoolchildren at the BVK Multiplex in LB Nagar.
In his interactions with the kids, Bhagwat explained the significance of India’s independence and noted that the freedom that citizens were now enjoying was made possible by the sacrifices of lakhs of freedom fighters.
However, he said, “unlike other freedom fighters, Gandhi ji chose to launch the conflict in a way that converted the dream of independence into a reality.”
He recommended kids think back on Gandhi’s inspirational non-violent liberation struggle because it would benefit them in life and in future competitive tests.
In preparation for the festivities of Independence Day, the Rachakonda Police has organized a number of events, including a 2-kilometer run, sports, games, and contests.
