“We are not makers of history. We are made by history”, said Martin Luther King Jr. Indeed, we are made by history. One might wish that some of the bad things that happened in the past should not have happened, but then how ere will ever going to learn?
The most significant exercises from history are the takeaways that are so expansive they can apply to different fields, different periods, and others too. That is the place where historical events have influence and are destined to apply to your own life. Here are some events of history that we can learn from: –

The Great World Wars –
The World Wars were fought between all the strongest nations in the world which saw a massive death toll and loss of food which brought poverty in many regions. If we think differently, these wars were actually fought between the leaders of these nations rather than the nations itself. If we think about it, there was a possibility where the leaders of the conflicted nations came together and solved the issues by peaceful means. But it took two world wars for humans to realise that wars are devastating for everyone and it brings no good.
What we learn – After the second World War ended, and the organisation named the United Nations was established. The sole purpose of this organisation was to prevent the world from the destruction of wars. We should understand that using peaceful means is always the best opinion to solve a problem. Violence never gets the best result and it ends up making things worse for both sides.

Climate change –
This is not something that has ended. This is something that started over a century ago and till today we are still making things difficult for us humans to live. Mass deforestation, abusive use of plastic, improper disposal of garbage, hunting of endangered species and a lot more things that humans did over the last century is of great concern for every individual. We have seen in the past how the glaciers have melted and added to tsunamis. We have seen how human-made fires have burned thousands of hectors of land and killed the vegetation there. It’s a wake-up call for all of us to start working collectively to ensure the safety of mother earth.

The evolution of man –
We use superfast cars today to get to whichever place we want to. But humans only learned to make use of wheels after learning that wooden logs can roll downwards on an inclined surface. This is just one of many things we have evolved from. Today we use smartphones and computers, we made spaceships and rockets, we build tall buildings and we also can travel to any place in the world in a day or two. It was only possible because humans never stopped learning. We never stopped thinking of better ways to make our lives easier. This teaches us that no matter how hard sometimes things may seem, never stop learning and growing your knowledge.
