NDA examination is conducted for a post or vacancy in the defense force of India – Army, Navy, or Air Force. There are two parts, the first is the written exams and another is the SSB interview. The Army Wing of the National Defence Academy requires candidates to 10+2 passed whereas the Air Force Naval and Naval Academy of National Defence Academy need candidates passed 10+2 in mathematics and physics.

It is conducted in 3 levels – objective multiple types, descriptive paper, and skill test or computer proficiency test.

This exam is held in two levels – multiple-choice questions and skill testing in stenography.
