1. Meaning
ITI means Industrial Training Institute. ITIs are the technical training from the government training institutes. ITI delivers several diploma courses after class 10th. 2. Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for ITI
An individual must have passed standard 10th or standard 8th. The school from which an individual completes their education should come under a recognized board of education.
It is necessary for an individual to have passing marks in every exam. Relying upon the selection of ITI course in which you prefer to take admission, you must compulsorily have some related subjects at the standard 10th or standard 8th grade.
Eligibility criteria for IIT
To receive an entry in IIT, individuals have to go through two compulsory exams. One is the Joint Entrance Exam(JEE) Mains and the other is JEE Advanced.
These are both exams that students have to pass to enter into IIT. First students must give JEE mains and accordingly they have to give JEE advance. These two exams comprise all your PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) syllabus.
3. Course Duration
Course duration for ITI is 6, 9, 12, 18, and 24 months. It depends on the trade you choose.
Course duration for IIT is 4 years and you will get an engineering degree from IIT.
