Frustrated With Interview Process? Here’s What The Problem Could Be

When was the last time you evaluated your interview skills? Every firm has its method of doing things, but have you taken the time to examine your process and ensure that you aren’t sabotaging the interviews?

Self-Inconsistency

It’s all too simple for interview inconsistencies to creep into the process inadvertently. We’re only human, and even the slightest of circumstances can affect our judgment, from scheduling interviews at different times of the day to entering the room in a foul mood due to a personal issue. You must push this initial, hasty judgment to the back of your mind as an interviewer. If you don’t, you’ll spend the entire interview hunting for negatives to back up your initial hunch, you’ll come across terribly (moody, lethargic, intense, combative), and your candidate won’t stand a chance.

Bad Questions During Interview

If you’re not asking the correct questions, your interviews will be a waste of time, and your decision will be based more on luck than on logic. And you’d be astonished at how many folks ask the incorrect questions…
