To make ends meet in today’s market, you may need to juggle many jobs, as well as school or family obligations. All this may compel a lot of people to choose a job filled with high income rather than a job with happiness.
Work naturally plays a large role in our lives because we spend so much of our time at work, traveling to and from work, or thinking about work. It can be detrimental to your physical and mental health if you are bored or unhappy with how you spend a significant portion of your day.
Choosing a job filled with high income, but no job satisfaction or happiness can make you feel burned out and frustrated, anxious, sad, or unable to enjoy time at home because of the oncoming workweek. Long periods of concentration on tasks that are monotonous, repetitive, or unpleasant can result in high levels of stress.
Furthermore, it is difficult to generate the effort and passion necessary to develop in your profession if you do not find your work relevant and gratifying.
That is why it is best to select a job that helps you pursue your dreams. However, our obligations and responsibilities may lead us to settle for a job that we don’t really find happy doing but pays us well. In such cases, try to focus on the good aspects of the job that is capable of bringing you happiness.
