Pros & Cons Of WFH: Part 1

Today let’s have a look at some of the pros and cons of WFH.

Pros

It helps you save time

There will be no commuting! Working from home could save you a lot of time depending on how far you live from the office. Consider the extra half-hour you could spend in bed. You might perhaps go for a brief swim before work. Or you’ll have time when you finish going to the gym.

It is cost-effective

Travel expenses to and from work can significantly reduce your earnings. Working from home could save you a lot of money. You might also save money on coffee shop visits during breaks. Or going out for a midday treat. Sure, reward yourself now and then, but save money by preparing your own lunch, snacks, and pleasant beverages.

Better habits

You have more control over what goes into your food and drinks if you prepare them yourself. Sugar, salt, and other evils can be readily reduced for a healthier diet. If you properly equip your home office, you can reduce the amount of time you spend sitting at your desk. To alternate between sitting and standing, use a standing desk or desk converter.

More Command

Working from home allows you to have greater control over your surroundings. You may personalize your decor…no more boring magnolia or white, white, white. You can also choose the appropriate temperature and illumination. You can make your workstation more pleasant for yourself without worrying about your coworkers. Of course, if you share your office with individuals you live with, you must also consider them. However, it is usually easier to strike an agreement with the individuals you live with.

Fewer Distractions

Perhaps the noise levels from chitter-chattering to phones ringing to computers clattering – make it impossible to concentrate. Perhaps Susan from the administration is making the rounds and doing everything she can to get you embroiled in the latest office politics. It might be from head office, clients visiting, applicants arriving for interviews, or any number of other factors. Working from home can be a blessing if you are struggling to cope with everything going on around you.
