The Air Force Common Admission Test is usually known as AFCAT. It is an entrance examination conducted by the Indian Air Force to select the right-eligible candidate or Class-I Gazetted Officers for the posts in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and non-Technical).
Every twice a year this exam is held in February and August/ September. AFCAT permits both male and females who want to join Indian Air Force.
It allows both Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission/Short Service Commission in Ground Duties for both Technical and Non-Technical roles.
The candidates are selected on the basis of their online examination and the Air Force Selection Board interview that follows.
The candidates who wish to join the Ground Duty (Technical) branches have to appear for both AFCAT and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).

The AFCAT question paper comprises 100 objective questions and total marks allotted are 300.
Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT)
EKT question paper comprises 50 questions and maximum marks allotted are 150.
The medium of exam is in English and the exam fee is Rs. 250 for AFCAT entry.
