The role of Assistant Commandant (AC) is to guard borders and industrial corridors. Apart from that they lead an army of 150 armed personnel. They are usually deployed for conducting elections and to maintain normalcy.
The AC has to plan, conduct operations and ensure proper training to keep the army prepared for any operations.
UPSC conducts CAPF exams once every year and since it involves a long process, it takes over a year to complete this exam.
The UPSC CAPF has a lot of scope for career growth with a good amount of salary. The salary also increases with promotions and responsibilities that follow.
