Performing yoga, according to research, may help children cope with stress and maintain a sense of balance in their lives and mental health. Yoga does not require any prior knowledge for a child to begin practicing it. They only need to begin, and yoga will become a way of life for them. It keeps them busy, helps them focus on their lives, and balances their body, mind, and soul. Here are a few simple and easy yoga poses to teach your children to help them achieve a healthy lifestyle.

1. Bridge Pose (Setu Bandha Sarvangasana)

The spine and thighs get a good stretch in this revitalizing backbend. This yogasana, stretches and expands the shoulders, thighs, hips, and chest. It also strengthens the back and hamstrings and improves spine flexibility.

2. Tree Pose (Vrksasana)

Vrksasana encourages your child to learn the grace of a tree, as well as how to stand tall and keep their balance. Extending the legs and chest improves the balance and attentiveness of your child and helps in strengthening the thigh muscles, calves, and ankles. If your child becomes shaky while trying to maintain their posture at first, have them stand with their back against a wall.

3. Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana)

The stretch could help your child build strong back, abs, and strength. Instruct your child to arch his back as much as his physique will allow. Allow each child their own level of flexibility and allow them to progress at their own pace.

The Cobra pose strengthens the spine and stretches the chest, shoulders, abdomen, and buttocks. It also stimulates the abdominal organs and relieves weariness and stress and helps with asthma management.

4. Sukhasana

Sukhasana is the most basic of all the postures that a child can attempt. It is good for the back, thighs, and hips. This asana stretches the knees and feet, and it relieves worry and stress. If your child’s hips are tight and he or she is having trouble sitting flat, place a folded blanket or hard cushion beneath their hips to support them.
