A toxic relationship between a couple severely affects the present and future of their children multiple ways. They face anxiety problems in school, have trouble sleeping and early brain developments in infants get disrupted.
They undergo depression at a very early age and there are many other serious issues that harm the kids.
1. Kids Face Mental Trauma
The conflicts between parents traumatize kids. They suffer emotionally seeing their parents fight without resolving their issues. Some children are very adaptive to marital separation but some are not.
2. They Feel Unsafe
When parents have bitter fights and threaten each other with separations or walk out, the child feels threatened. A child believes in a peaceful relation between the parents but such settings make them feel unsafe.
3. They Are Forced to Pick Sides
A child loves either parent equally and it gets distressing for them if they are asked to pick sides between an argument. This causes them stress and leads to depression.
Also, picking sides causes the relations to go more downhill.
4. They Feel Guilty
Arguments between parents over parenting styles, financial expenses and educational problems of children makes the kids feel responsible for the fight. Since they have a sensitive mind, they feel guilty and develop feelings of self-loathing and lower self-esteem.
5. Disruption in Developing Good habits

If a couple swears or shouts, it gets reflected in their children as well.
