STD’s or sexually transmitted disease is a disease transferred through sexual contact, effected by bacteria or viruses. HIV, genital herpes, gonorrhea, some kinds of hepatitis, and trichomoniasis are STDs. Sexually transmitted infections may transmit from one individual to another in blood, semen, and other bodily fluids.
STDs/STIs which are caused by bacteria or parasites can be treated with antibiotics. These antibiotics are most often given by mouth (orally). However, sometimes they are injected or applied directly to the affected area.
Here is how and where you can get tested for STDs
Bacterial STDs can be cured with antibiotics if treatment begins early enough. Viral STDs are not curable but you can manage their symptoms with medications. There is a vaccine available against hepatitis B, but it will not help if you already have the disease.
