1. Recognizing the truth
You must accept the idea that your lover is human, and that he will most likely do human things as well. Furthermore, no human being is perfect, and everyone has at least one connection they are ashamed to discuss. He most likely has some former relationships he’d like not to discuss, as well as some crazy ex-girlfriends he’d rather keep hidden. You shouldn’t judge him for the people he dated before you if you accept the truth about his previous relationships.
2. Be respectful of others.
Telling your partner about your sexual history takes a lot of trust and guts. If he has so much faith in you, you should do everything you can not betray it. Please don’t make him resent you for asking about his past. Rather than focusing on his former life and the individuals he’s known, try to figure out if he still has feelings for any of the women he’s known.
3. Do not be afraid to ask questions.
If you have a question regarding your boyfriend’s background, rather than waiting about and wondering, it’s preferable to ask. Is there something you’re worried about that he hasn’t mentioned, or is there something he keeps repeating that bothers you? Then consider how to ask him courteously. In addition, asking questions will erase many worries and unproductive thoughts from your mind. Rather than allowing your mind to play out scenarios for you, it would be much more beneficial if you simply asked him for further information.
4. Do not compare yourself to others.
Nobody enters a relationship without bringing some baggage with them; the only difference is how hefty or convoluted that baggage is. Always keep in mind that your boyfriend’s past is behind him; don’t make any comparisons between you and his ex-girlfriends. Was she a better cook than he was? Were they more comfortable in bed than you? Is there anyone he misses? These comparison queries will only deprive you of the delight of the present moment.
