So, you’ve decided on your wedding party, but that’s it. You might not know it right now, but there are a slew of other responsibilities and jobs you could enlist the help of others for—especially if your loved ones are willing to pitch in. Not only will you have extra hands to help with the ceremony and reception, but you’ll also be able to include those who didn’t make the wedding party cut. (Just make sure to thank them profusely for their efforts.)
1. Secretary Stuff
Your wedding day is surrounded by a deluge of paperwork. Why not enlist the assistance of a detail-oriented relative or friend to help you address envelopes, manage responses, sort through place cards, and write a thank-you list? Offer to lick the envelopes personally in exchange.
2. Site Designer
If you’re doing the reception decorating set up yourself, you’ll undoubtedly need a capable staff to assist with everything from table and chair arrangement to place card placement. Have breakfast or lunch served for everyone to take the drudgery out of stringing up a billion string lights?
3. Distribution of the Program
You’ll generally need at least two individuals to distribute your programmes, depending on the venue. This simple task puts some of your favourite individuals in the spotlight—and allows them to relax for the rest of the day.
4. Entrance
Ushering is a task that ladies can also execute, even though it is often mistakenly seen as a “man” area. This is your chance to include teens, capable family members, or a few extra friends in the celebration.
5. Train-Bearing
Remember how Princess Diana and Meghan Markle’s trains were kept in check by the kids? If your train is even a tenth as long, you’ll almost certainly need a few little ones (or a friend or two) to keep the fabric flowing.
