For masala paste
Oil (2 tbsp ), Butter (2 tbsp), cloves(5), cardamom(2 pods), onion (2), garlic(2 clove), ginger, tomato(3), cashew(15)
For curry
Oil (2tbsp), butter( 2 tbsp), bay leaf(1),
Chili(1), Onion(1), turmeric (½ tsp), chili powder(1tbsp), coriander powder(¾ tsp),
cumin powder(¼ tsp), garam masala(½ tsp), salt(1 tsp), water(1 cup), cream(2 tbsp), paneer (15-16 cubes), Kasuri methi(1 tsp), coriander (2 tbsp)

Step 1
Firstly, in a Kadai heat some oil and some butter. Put in cloves, cardamom, and cook on low heat until it becomes aromatic. Immediately add onions, garlic, and ginger. Cook until onions shrink slightly.
Step 2
Now add tomatoes, cashews and cook for 2 -3 minutes. Cover the container and
cook for 10 – 12 minutes, or until the tomato softens.
Step 3
Let it cool and transfer it to the blender and blend to make a smooth paste. Filter the mixture to get rid of seeds and skin.
How to prepare paneer butter masala
Step 1
In a Kadai heat some oil, some butter, bay leaf, and chili. Cook until the spices turn aromatic.
Step 2
Add onion and cook until onions turn slightly brown. Keep the flame on medium, add turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt(as per needed). Cook until the spices turn aromatic.
Step 3
Put in prepared onion tomato paste and blend well. Cook the mixture until oil separates from the masala paste. Then add water(1cup) and blend well and adjust the consistency of the mixture.
Step 4
Now add in cream and mix properly. Further, add cubes of paneer and mix it gently. Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the paneer absorbs the aroma and taste. Add Kasuri methi and coriander and mix it well.
Your paneer butter masala is ready. Now you can enjoy paneer butter masala with roti or naan.
