Gulab Juman is one of the most known sweet dishes loved by almost all Indians. If you want to make gulab jamun at home, then here is the recipe for you.
(1/2 cup )- Flour, ( 1 cup) – Khoya/mava, ( 1/8 tsp)-Baking Soda, Oil -(as preferred), (3-4)-Cardamom, (8-10)-Saffron, 1-2 cups-(Sugar), (2 -3
cups)-Water.
Step 1
Add sugar, cardamom, and saffron to a container. Afterwards, add water to it, boil on medium flame.
Step 2
When it begins boiling, lessen the flame to low and boil till the syrup starts getting slightly sticky. Keep mixing it with a spoon. When the syrup is prepared, remove it from the flame.
Step 3
Now take a bowl, put in flour, khoya(it should be grated), and baking soda. Stir it well and knead it to make a dough.
Step 4
Take out small pieces of the dough and make round balls. Remember there should be no tear in the balls, otherwise, they will open at the time of frying.
Step 5
Now take a pan and heat some oil on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, take a small amount of the mixture and put it in the oil, and see if it comes up instantly without changing the color, then you know that the oil is ready for frying. But if it turns brown immediately then the oil is too hot, so let it cool down a bit.
Put the balls into oil and deep-fry on medium flame. You will observe that they have begun to swell and have become lightish golden. Fry it till it turns golden brown, once done, remove it from the pan.
Step 6
Now let it cool down a bit. After that, put some sugar syrup on it. At the time of pouring in the syrup, the syrup should not be entirely cold. If the syrup is cooled down then heat it a little bit.
Step 7
Soak it in sugar syrup for 1-2 hours. Now your Gulab Jamun is entirely prepared.
