From ‘Independence Day’ To ‘Hamilton,’ Best Patriotic Movies To Watch In 2022

Independence Day

The term alone conjures up images of the Fourth of July and the United States’ liberation from British dominion. However, this modern-day disaster picture starring Will Smith and Bill Pullman, directed by famous director Roland Emmerich, depicts a new scenario in which aliens take over the globe and humans fight to survive.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

The idea of this black-and-white picture by award-winning director Frank Capra, which was released in 1939, is as appropriate today as it was then. The film, starring the enigmatic Jimmy Stewart, portrays a junior senator’s efforts to battle political corruption in Washington, D.C. after being tricked by a supposedly “friendly” senator with dishonest intentions.

Hamilton

The critically acclaimed Broadway musical about Alexander Hamilton’s life and death, as well as the American Revolution, will be available to Disney + subscribers on July 3 – just in time for Independence Day. The original Broadway cast, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the musical, was filmed at the Richard Rodgers Theater in June 2016 for an eventual release by Disney in movie theatres on Oct. 15, 2021. “Hamilton,” winner of numerous Tony Awards and grossing more than $650 million, was filmed at the Richard Rodgers Theater in June 2016 for an eventual release by Disney in movie theatres on Oct. 15, 2021.

Glory
