The Eiffel Tower is a well-known structure that is the tallest in Paris.
The Eiffel Tower, one of Paris’s – indeed, the world’s – most visited landmarks, inaugurated 129 years ago today, greeting nearly seven million tourists per year. The tower now attracts about 7 million visitors each year, making it the world’s most visited paid-for monument. It stands 324 metres tall and weighs 10,100 tonnes (with antennas), which is roughly equivalent to an 81-story skyscraper.
The tower took two years, two months, and five days to build. This is, without a doubt, a world record time. In 1889, the building was declared complete on March 31. It was thought that it would only be required to stand for twenty years.
From the bottom of the Eiffel Tower, take the steps to the 2nd Floor. That’s a total of 674 steps! The Eiffel Tower has a total of 1792 steps from the esplanade to the top, but the stairway from the 2nd floor to the top is closed to the public. The stairwell to the second floor will take roughly 30-45 minutes to ascend. It all depends on your level of fitness!
Please avoid the stairs if you have extremely young children or babies. A friendly reminder: there is no space or locker area for forgotten luggage. It is not advisable, if you are in bad health. Visitors with limited mobility are not permitted to use the stairwells. Taking the stairs at the Eiffel Tower couldn’t be easier
