Have A Look At Bird Lovers: 7 Migratory Birding Destinations In India

India is a country full of diverse landscapes and weather conditions. It is a large center for migratory birds that make it home for a few months.

Here is the migratory birding destination in India!!

1. Chilka Lake

The brackish waters of the famous Chilka Lake is one of the biggest assembling regions for migratory birds. Approximately 92 different migratory bird varieties are found here during the winters. Some of the birds that you can find at this lake are flamingos, Pintail duck, raptors, Pochard duck, waders, and many more.

2. Keoladeo Ghana National Park

Also called a ‘bird paradise’, the Keoladeo Ghana National Park was also known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. This park is a shelter for hundreds of migratory birds during the winters. Some of the birds one can find here are herons, different varieties of ducks, pelicans, cranes, storks, and many more.

3. Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary

The Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary is the biggest wetland sanctuary located in Gujarat. It has approximately 200 migratory birds during the winters. The birds stay around until March to April. Some birds found here are pelicans, flamingoes, grebe, Brahminy ducks, moorhen, herons, etc.

4. Sundarban National Park

The Sundarbans are recognized for its tiger and other wildlife. With over 250 varieties of migratory birds finding shelter at the Sundarban National Park, it is a huge wildlife hotspot. The birds one can see here are cormorants, curlew, pintail, storks, poachard, herons, and more.

5. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary

Found on the banks of the Vembanad Lake in Kerala, the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary exceeds in magnificence. The birds seen here are the Siberian crane, flycatchers, wagtails, herons, cormorants, egrets, etc.

6. Pulicat Lake

The Pulicat Lake is filled with flamingos, storks, pelicans, herons, and egrets during the winters. Furthermore, birds such as spoonbills, shorebirds, warblers, and flycatchers can also be seen.

7. Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park is one of the oldest national parks in the country. It has more than 500 bird species, some of them are migratory and some are local. Migratory birds found here are Brown dippers, forktails, species of wagtail, wallcreepers, and many more.
