Thanksgiving Day is an annual national holiday in the United States and Canada celebrating the gathering of crops which is called the harvest and blessings of the past year.
HISTORY
Americans basically believe that their Thanksgiving is modeled on a 1621 harvest feast shared by the inhabitants of the English colony of Plymouth and the Wampanoag people. This American holiday is specifically rich in symbolism, and this traditional fare of the Thanksgiving meal comprises of turkey which is considered as the meal of choice for Americans as the story suggests that the colonists hunted these wild turkey for a meal during the fall of autumn 1621, bread stuffing, potatoes which are served as whole or smashed, cranberries, and pumpkin pie. The holiday is often one of the busiest of the year, as family members gather with one another. Thanksgiving Day will celebrate on Thursday, November 26, 2020.
ORIGIN
The original first thanksgiving lasted for 3 days with more than 90 native Americans which are also called red Indians and more than 50 pilgrims.
DECLARATION
This day of thanksgiving was considered a national holiday which was declared by Abraham Lincoln on October 3rd, 1863.

Poor people are provided with food and money. There are food drives organized by the communities that distribute food to people who cannot afford it. TSA(THE SALVATION ARMY) is an international charitable organization run by a Christian church that serves thanksgiving diner to poor people.
