1. Hazratbal Masjid, Jammu and Kashmir
The Hazratbal Masjid also known as Dargah Sharif is a white marble mosque located on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar.
It was built in 20th century and is considered to be one of the holiest Muslim shrines in Kashmir.
2. Jamali-Kamali Masjid, Delhi
Jamali-Kamali Masjid built in red sandstone and marble embellishments is located in Mehrauli, Delhi. It was constructed in 1528-1529 CE. The mosque has an adjoining tomb of two persons named Jamali and Kamali.
3. Nagina Masjid, Uttar Pradesh
Nagina Masjid also known as Gem Mosque or Jewel Mosque is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The Mosque was built by Emperor Shah Jahan between 1631 to 1640 CE. The marvellous architecture is built in pure white marble.
4. Jama Masjid, Delhi
Jama Masjid also known as Masjid-i-Jehan located in Delhi is one of the largest mosques in India. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1656 CE in Indo-Islamic style. It is considered as one of the best mosques built in Mughal Empire.
5. Taj-ul-Masajid, Madhya Pradesh
Taj-ul-Masajid is located near a lake known as Motia Talab, in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The name Taj-ul-Masajid means ‘crown among mosques.’ It is deemed to be one of the largest mosques in Asia. Taj-ul-Masajid is built in Indo-Islamic style.
The construction of the mosque was commenced by Nawab Shah Jahan Begum of Bhopal and after her death it was continued to be built by her daughter Sultan Jahan Begum.
