5. The White Tiger – 2021
The White Tiger is based on Aravind Adiga’s 2008 book of the same title. It tells a story of Balram Halwai (Adarsh Gourav), a desperately poor Indian villager who rises through the ranks of Ashok (Rajkummar Rao) and Pinky (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), two powerful corporate billionaires, through personal effort (and a little trickery). Balram refuses to be used as a victim and instead resolves to combat the unscrupulous powers at work.
