Special Dessert Alert: Here Is Spanish Milk Fry Just For You

Everyone loves desserts after their food. For some people, dinner or lunch is not complete without a dessert. Desserts are available in different varieties. Whether it is a ‘halwa’ or it is ‘ice cream’ every person enjoys it. Every country owns its own special desserts. You may have heard of Spanish milk fry known as ‘Leche frita’. which is a specialty in Spain. It is a really good at delicious dessert to try.

Here is the simple recipe to make Spanish milk fry

Ingredients to make Leche frita

Cornstarch – 3 tablespoon
All-purpose flour – 7 tablespoon
Sugar – 1/2 cup
whole milk – 1 litter
cinnamon stick – 1
Eggs – 2
Olive oil (as needed)
Butter – 2 tablespoon
Ground cinnamon for garnish

Steps to Make It

In a big bowl, whisk together cornstarch, whole flour, and sugar. Add 1 cup of milk to it and blend well with a whisk. Let stand until condensed, for about 10 minutes.

In a large pan, heat the remaining milk along with the cinnamon stick on a medium flame. When the milk starts to bubble, remove it from the flame.

Put a mesh strainer over the bowl of the sugar and flour mix, and pour the milk in little by little, blend it constantly. Put this mixture back into the pan and place it over low flame, blending well for some minutes.

Lightly oil an oven-proof glass dish with olive oil. Put the Leche frita mixture into the dish.

Keep it to cool in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, or you can keep it overnight if you have time. Run a knife around the edge of the Leche frita to loosen it. Very promptly turn it out onto a cutting board.

Slice it into medium pieces. In a container, beat the eggs.

Put some olive oil into a frying pan. Heat it over medium flame. Add some of the butter and allow it to melt.

Put the leftover flour on a dish and dredge each of the pieces. Then dip them into the beaten eggs.

Carefully place the pieces in the hot oil and fry for nearly 1 minute on each side, until it turns lightly golden.

Transfer the slices to a dish with tissue paper to remove excess oil.

Garnish with ground cinnamon and serve instantly or enable to cool and serve at room temperature.
