Truth: It has been proven by NASA satellite images that the Great Wall of China is not visible from space. You cannot even see it from the earth’s orbit or even the moon.
3. Myth: The Wall was built for defeating the Mongols
Truth: The Great Wall of China wasn’t built to keep out the Mongols. Because Mongols gained power after 11th Century A.D. Earlier the walls were built to protect themselves from northern nomadic tribes.
4. Myth: The first emperor of Qin was the one to build the Great Wall of China
Truth:
The man who ordered the building of the Great Wall of China was emperor Qin Shihuang but he commanded to connect the separated walls and extend them. The Duke of Chi State was the first person who ordered the building of the wall.
