Why Is Drinking Alcohol A Sin To Muslims

It is common knowledge that Muslims do not consume alcohol. It is haram or prohibited. They avoid all intoxicating drinks and avoid foods containing ethanol. They also avoid wearing perfumes having alcoholic elements. Alcohol is considered “haraam” (strictly prohibited) by the majority of Muslims. Muslims abstain from consuming alcohol because the Prophet Muhammad, to whom Muslims believe the word of God was revealed, did not consume alcohol. Although Muhammad stated in the Quran that alcohol may have some medicinal use, he considered its propensity for sin was “far higher” than its benefits.

Anything that is damaging to human beings and society is prohibited in Islam. Alcohol really is dangerous and has a detrimental impact on both the mind and the body. As a result, Islam takes a firm stance against alcohol, prohibiting its intake in both little and big quantities. In Islam, alcohol is ranked thirteenth among the Greater Sins.

According to learn religious reports, In the Quran, alcohol and other intoxicants are forbidden because they are a terrible habit that keeps people from remembering God.

According to Quran reading reports, another verse of the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty said: “The devil wants only to cast among you enmity and hatred by means of strong drink and games of chance and to turn you from remembering Allah and from prayer. Will you then desist”.

Muslims believe drinking alcohol can seriously damage your learning and memory skills in the long run. It numbs the mind, creates disease, wastes money, and devastates individuals, families, and communities. They believe many people who drink alcohol end up doing things they later regret. These can include things like violence, drunk driving, sex before marriage or with someone other than one’s wife, and a range of other actions that not only violate Islamic law but also harm society’s moral fabric, causing family disintegration and enmity. Drinking can also result in a loss of self-esteem and respect.
